Mercedes-Benz Vans has created a Keeping Businesses Moving immersive experience, which will bring to life the adVANce strategy that evolves the Brand from vehicle manufacturer to holistic provider of mobility and transportation solutions.
Inside the 16m, custom-built, double-expanding articulated trailer are three different multi-sensory technology experiences that tell the story of what Mercedes-Benz Vans does today, what’s coming tomorrow and what the future looks like.
Each of these experiences has been created exclusively for use within the UK and presents an exciting variety of new and innovative technology styles.
The story of today is played out in a full 360° Virtual Reality experience, where visitors take a seat in the hydraulically powered cab of a Sprinter van and join a number of customers as Mercedes-Benz Vans keep them moving, while they keep their customers moving, every single day.
An Augmented Reality wall brings to life the immediate future for Mercedes-Benz Vans. Equipped with a hand-held tablet device and headphones, guests will interact with trigger points on the wall to reveal the exciting new range of electric vehicles and learn more about the benefits of Mercedes PRO connect – our connectivity solution.
A future cityscape scenario using Magic Leap mixed reality technology, one of the first to land in the UK, gives visitors the opportunity to move around a futuristic city space featuring robots, drones and autonomous vehicles in Mercedes-Benz Vans’ vision for the future of mobility.
The Mercedes-Benz Vans Keeping Businesses Moving mobile trailer has been bought to life with the support of Meet & Potato, live experience specialists based in Liverpool. Due to the pioneering technology utilised, Liverpool John Moores University has tested the Keeping Businesses Moving trailer, with students and lecturers alike trialling the experience.
The Keeping Businesses Moving trailer will be embarking on a tour around the UK at various events and exhibitions; including the Royal Highlands Show, Edinburgh (from 20 June), the Great Yorkshire Show, Harrogate (from 9 July), Car Fest North, Cheshire (from 26 July) and Car Fest South, Hampshire (from 23 August).
Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd, said: “We are firm believers in bringing our Brand to the people, rather than expecting them to come to us, so this unique mobile trailer truly enables us to share our vision with a wide and varied audience.
“We know that electric vehicles are high on the agenda of our customers, but beyond that we offer new and emerging innovations that could help change the industry forever. By using technology to bring these ideas to life, we hope to demystify and simplify topics such as drones and robots, and how AI can aid businesses great and small to ensure even greater effectiveness and efficiencies. Mercedes-Benz Vans has always pushed innovation and technology to new levels and this year our trailer is destined to do the same!”
